I should really forget about this.

The Grid

The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they traveled through the computer. Ships, motorcycles. With the circuits like freeways. I kept dreaming of a world I thought I’d never see. And then, one day… I got in

Paint

Kinda failed a little bit. New paint reacted with old in places a touch. Hoping it will still stick, too early to tell. I laid it on a bit heavy I guess, although no sags so god knows.

Still looks bangin, especially compared to what it was.

Wheels and shit are next. This will take a good couple days to dry properly I think, so will leave it a week

Update fail, thanks

Trying to chuck up some sweet new happenings, but having smoked our limit of broadband for the month means no photos, apparently.

Anyone else had this issue?

Anyway, got some cool stuff coming once I’m allowed to post it.

I’ma let you finish

Started using Sketchup again. So much fun, really powerful when you know what you’re doing- just like money.

Will throw some of my work up soon.

It’s been awhile…

In between finishing my studies for the year, working fulltime and holidaying like a man possessed, I completely forgot about this poor thing.

So, what’s happened since my last post? Plenty.

Firstly, I sold the Sapporo. I was, and am, gutted by this. My place of storage was unable to be kept, and thus I had little choice in the matter. Happily, it will not be crushed, but rather will live again in another fellow’s Galant Lambda. She was a rusty old thing, so perhaps it was for the better?

I’ve been working fulltime in an Architectural firm, which has been a great experience. My boss is young and inventive, and shares similar views to myself on design. So many cool projects on the go, it’s going to be a great year.

I have only 6 months of study left, and have been promised a fulltime position then. I even have my business cards, which was a big step for myself.

I have moved house, though only across the mighty Waikato River. New place is nice enough, but I’d like to get my own place this year, for a number of reasons. Modern townhouse, so I’m comfortable, and I even have my own ensuite.

I have had a major financial wondfall, which leads to…

I’m in the market for a new, new car. I say “new, new” because I plan on it being post 1995. I’m looking at spending in the vicinity of 5k-10k. Naturally, Japanese need only apply. I’ve never trusted euro stuff. I’m quite keen on a Legnum, likely not VR4, but I may be swayed if insurance isn’t too killer. Also looking at Mazda 6′s, Focus’s, and Legacy’s. I’d love any reccomendations, or even thoughts on this matter. I understand price-wise they vary, but it makes me think more about my decisions. I can likely get a VR4 LEgnum, under 100k, for around the 7k area. Great value, but it is still a car that began production in the mid 90s…

In regards to old cars? Well, nothing really. Once I get my own place, with a garage, I’m considering buying something built already, or at least legal and driveable. An EX Lancer with a 4G63 is an option, or another Celeste, stock as a rock. Mitsubishi’s are tempting, as they are still sensibly priced. We’ll see.

Here’s some pics from my holidays, so this isn’t too boring.

Pressure building…

Quick post to explain lack of activity. I am approaching the end of year assignment hand in dates, and as such am extremely busy. Think 15+ hour day every single day at tec or work or a combination.

It’s shown me I’ve made the right choice, as I’m loving it. I’m losing hair even quicker, my friends likely think I’m living in Mexico and I haven’t had a social experience in weeks

Shame

Jap MEAT

January 2010, pop in in your calender now. If you even have a 2010 calender. I don’t.

Click here for pics from previous years. Vehicles previously see there include Nige’s MILD-BOSO GX71 and cheater’s wee truck. Over 50 vehicles attended in 2009, and conservative estimates are telling me to expect more in ’10! All the big names will be in attendance from the oldschool forums. Will be a ripper.

I’m hoping to catch a ride with a fellow by the name of Richy, in his super-cute sped KP61 Starlet with all the JDM goods. Just needs the shakotan slap, but he’s sick of hearing that. I have a little silly dream of taking the Sapporo, but that’s impossible really. Would be cool though

Captures the event well. Silly old vehicle made impractical to drive. Looks sweet though, so much better now
